Mitchell Hashimoto demos Rex multiplexer CLI for automating editors and agentic coding tools
mitsuhiko · x · 2026-09-15
Mitchell Hashimoto demoed the CLI for the superlogical Rex multiplexer: everything the GUI can do, the CLI can do—and more, including creating sessions, running commands, making splits, moving focus, simulating any input device, and waiting on scripts. He highlighted a streaming event system any client can hook into and a terminal-specific API returning structured info like JSON. The CLI serves as an automation entry point for editors and agentic coding tools. mitsuhiko called it "so cool".
