Lab puts AI agents in charge of real online businesses, hires $10k/month interns to supervise

Core Automation, a small research lab, spent five months spinning up small online businesses—each with its own bank account, debit card, browser and email—and handed full control to AI agents funded with seed money and a seed idea, watching them sell real products to real customers.
The lab is now hiring four Associate General Manager interns to own entire businesses rather than a single product:
- Three months in person, January–March 2027, in San Francisco
- $10,000/month base pay plus profit sharing (larger share from your own businesses, smaller from others')
- A budget, tokens, and agent infrastructure designed for running online businesses
- Run multiple businesses at once: niche stores, sourcing rare products, software tools, or SMB services
The research goal: by watching where humans intervene, understand what agents still lack in open-ended, unforgiving commercial tasks—and how autonomous organizations add productive capacity to the economy.
