AA Intelligence Index v4.3 Shake-up: GPT-6 Astra Gets Smarter and Cheaper, Sonnet 5 Pricier
crusaderky · reddit · 2026-09-15
Redditor crusaderky used saved data from Artificial Analysis v4.1 to build a before/after comparison of the index's v4.3 update (following Astra's release), sampling prices and intelligence on Sep 3 and Sep 14 — the models are unchanged, only the benchmark weighting differs.
Highlights:
- GPT-6 Astra's intelligence jumps sharply while getting cheaper
- GPT-5.6 Sol becomes much cheaper; GPT-5.6 Luna gets a substantial intelligence uplift
- Fable-5.1 closes the price gap with Opus 5 and drops below Fable 5.0; its low/medium/high effort tiers look more appealing
- Sonnet 5 gets more expensive with no intelligence gains
- Kimi-K3, Qwen3.8-Max, Gemini-3.8 and Grok 4.6 fall considerably
- GLM and Muse Spark hold roughly steady
Plots and methodology are open-sourced on GitHub.
