2024 survey: 10% AI extinction risk is normal among 1,580 AI researchers

AI Impacts published its 2024 survey of AI researchers. Among 1,580 respondents asked about the probability of AI-caused extinction, expecting around a 10% risk is normal — and when lined up by their answers, a large share of researchers gave estimates far above 10%.
