Honeycomb co-founder Charity Majors published a long essay, "Confessions of an Unrepentant Slop Snob," on the internal conflict AI created at her company: half the team was furious at receiving 20-page AI-padded docs and replies starting with "Claude says…," feeling their time was actively abused and human connection was being eroded. The other half felt equally injured—they were shipping faster than ever and resented colleagues who hadn't updated their workflows in years.
She proposes a framework for when AI involvement is additive versus a violation: fine for functional work like code and artifacts, but lazy—honestly, offensive—for personal interactions such as emails and performance reviews.
