Perplexity launches Portable Computer on Windows PCs, running agents and models locally on RTX GPUs

Perplexity announced that Portable Computer is now available on Windows PCs with NVIDIA RTX GPUs. The harness, agents, and models can all run locally, so tasks involving local files and connected apps never need to leave the machine, while frontier cloud models remain available when needed.
Follow-up updates add support for local MCP, letting users connect the product to their own tools and app integrations, plus scheduled tasks so Computer can perform recurring work on the PC even while the user is away.
