Recent Geekbench results for Apple's A20 Pro show single-core scores around 4000, versus roughly 3163 for the best x64 desktop chip (AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D) — about 25% ahead, and that x86 score sits between Apple's A18 and A19.
The A20 also exceeds Xiaomi's claims for its XRing O3, keeping Apple the single-core champion. Roughly speaking Apple has doubled single-core performance in five years, suggesting the 'great CPU stagnation' is a myth.
