Speaker Johnson convenes AI platform providers on guardrails and safety

House Speaker Mike Johnson announced he is calling a meeting in Washington with AI platform providers and experts to determine the right course for AI guardrails, stressing that any rules must prevent harm while preserving US innovation and its edge over China. The effort stems from the bipartisan AI task force he set up after becoming Speaker.
