ByteDance has released the consumer version of its Doubao phone assistant, shipping on the Nubia NaviX Ultra (launching Sept 16) and rolling out to existing Nubia M153 users. The upgrade spans interaction, personal context/memory, agent task execution, and privacy.

Key features: an AI key with fingerprint auth so tasks run without unlocking; screen Q&A upgraded to "see it, do it" (pick furniture from photos, add a schedule to calendar, edit photos by voice); local search across albums, SMS and notes; recording transcription, translation, speaker separation and summarization via Feishu; and one-tap saving of screen content to local memory. The agent now works across third-party apps, supports lock-screen task queuing, and adds time/location-triggered automations (e.g., daily AI news digests posted to Feishu). ByteDance concedes GUI agent reliability and cross-app stability remain works in progress.
