After attending ECCV, gabriberton spotted a North-up satellite image at an airport and joked that locating it with the AstroLoc model was "almost too easy," tagging ESA and AlexStoken. His observation suggests that when images keep a north-up orientation, geolocalization tasks become nearly trivial — hinting current models and benchmarks may exploit orientation as a shortcut rather than genuine geographic reasoning.
