Palmer Luckey says tech influencer Scoble charges $2,000 per X post to shill for AI firms

PalmerLuckey · x · 2026-09-14

Anduril founder Palmer Luckey publicly alleged that tech influencer Robert Scoble DM'd him pitching paid promotion — $2,000 per X post, with higher rates for videos, blogs and astroturfing, on top of other AI companies already paying him. Luckey wanted to share screenshots but Scoble deleted the message.

Luckey also dug up old grievances, claiming Scoble once lobbied to get him fired from Oculus, encouraged a tech-industry blacklist against him, and fabricated insider stories blaming him for the Oculus Touch delay. The post inadvertently exposed the pay-to-shill undercurrent in AI marketing.
