GXL, founded by Stanford professor James Zou and entrepreneur Christine Lemke, launched Paperclip: an agent-native virtual filesystem that reindexes scientific knowledge for AI agents. It indexes 7.5M full-text papers, 150M abstracts, 170M legal documents across 75 jurisdictions, plus UniProt, PDB, ChEMBL and clinical trial data. Available via CLI, MCP server (works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) and Paperclip Chat, aiming for faster, grounded deep synthesis by agents.
