Abacus AI announced Smaug Mini, a small open-weight 27B model built for very fast inference, as part of its 'an LLM model a week' push. It also launched Smaug Flash on its API at ultra-low pricing: $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.40 per million output tokens. The company says its three-model lineup — Agentic, Flash, and Mini — aims to advance open source; weights are available on Hugging Face.
