A railway operations worker (dispatch/signaling) fed course materials, past exams and simulator manuals to Claude and, in just 3 days of back-and-forth, got a working browser-based signaling simulator — while the real software runs only on custom hardware and costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.
His point: based purely on rulebooks, AI now understands his job better than 99% of his colleagues. People outside tech either think AI hasn't advanced since 2023 or are drowned in anti-AI agitprop. If someone with no tech background can build a bot that could realistically replace a profession in 3 days, operational-level jobs won't be the same in 5 years. "We are not prepared."
