Fulmar open-sources a native macOS wrapper for the DeepSeek agent harness
absolutefunnyguy · reddit · 2026-09-13
Developer absolutefunnyguy released Fulmar (MIT-licensed, source preview), a native macOS app that wraps the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) agent runtime with operational controls.
Key features:
- Model routing with consent: choose local or cloud model routes, with explicit confirmation before data goes to a different destination
- Security controls: credentials stored in Keychain, granular workspace and tool access control
- Recovery checkpoints: review and restore workspace changes, addressing the risk of agents modifying files or running commands
The project aims to make running DSH on a Mac easier to manage. It currently requires building from source; a downloadable beta is in progress. Source: GitHub: ajss-25/fulmar
