AI films hit 90+ minutes as RunningHub launches AIGC contest with 5.5M yuan prize pool

A student-made AI series drew 30-40M views on Douyin.
On Sept 8, RunningHub partnered with the Chinese SF Nebula Awards to launch an AIGC long-form contest with a 5.5M yuan prize pool, free adaptation rights to 10 sci-fi works, and Liu Cixin as advisor. The platform offers RHTV infinite canvas, Blender previsualization, and RHSTORY script breakdown supporting up to 150k characters, plus post-contest creator funding.
Generation tech has advanced from Runway Gen-2's 4-second clips to Seedance 2.5's stable 30-second shots, enabling continuous narrative. The author argues that as models handle production, story quality becomes the deciding factor.
