Open-source thesys-core highlights exact paragraphs behind AI answers in 100+ page PDFs
Flat-Phone-1596 · reddit · 2026-09-13
The author built and open-sourced thesys-core after tiring of tools like Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Claude giving answers to questions about 100+ page PDFs with little more than a page number.
- Ask a question and the tool highlights the exact paragraphs in the PDF the answer is based on, letting you verify context and correctness in place
- It's essentially RAG plus visual source highlighting, originally a personal project to avoid another subscription
- Open-sourced at github.com/Sreehari05055/thesys-core; suggested uses beyond papers include legal contracts, financial reports, and technical documentation
