Guillaume Verdon (beffjezos) predicts an NGO will stage an open-source "false flag" cyberattack and use it as a pretext to ban open-source models, their competition. Quoting Perry Metzger, who warns that the labs have made many people very angry and that many now assume someone may rig a disaster soon — a sign of sharply escalating open vs. closed AI hostilities.
