Physicist David Deutsch, replying to Juan Benet, argues we should give up trying to measure knowledge or creativity. Instead, he says, the right move is to correct restraints, constraints, brakes, sabotage and punishments — consistent with his long-standing view that creativity is irreducible and cannot be captured by metrics.
