Stanford's CS 312 'Deep Learning Alchemy' by Hashimoto & Kotha to release all materials publicly

Stanford's new fall course CS 312: Deep Learning Alchemy, taught by Tatsunori Hashimoto and Suhas Kotha, is fully enrolled (waitlist open) and will make all recordings and class materials public.
- Core stance: theory and math alone aren't enough — students must master deep learning through running many experiments in computationally tractable domains, training efficient experimentation and outcome prediction
- Format alternates assignments (run experiments), quizzes (predict held-out experiment outcomes), lectures and tutorials; 5 units, seven hard quizzes, no inflated grading
- The course is being praised for keeping up with the current AI landscape while preserving pedagogical value
