The Draw Things team released a public beta of Local Code, a Mac-local coding agent app built on the Draw Things inference engine.
- Performance: 1.2-1.6x faster prefill on supported models — 980 tok/s for Qwen 3.8 27B on M5 Max, 900 tok/s for DeepSeek 4 Flash 0731
- Sandbox-enforced via macOS App Store requirements (App Sandbox, Hardened Runtime) while shipping Python, Node.js, Lean, Bash and more out of the box
- Zero sign-up: download from TestFlight, grab a model, and go — unlike OpenCode, whose Web Search tool requires login
- Demo shows multiple tasks running in parallel on a single M5 Max laptop
