A developer simulated a fly brain (malecnsv1.0, 166,700 neurons, 759 photoreceptors at 180Hz) months after the fly died, using dopamine-only feedback (+1 exact match, -0.4 otherwise) to have it read letters off a screen at 1.28M spikes/sec, with only 4.8% of the brain active at any moment.
