Digital Fly Brain Learns to Read Hiragana with 85% Accuracy
A developer simulated a fruit fly brain with 166,700 neurons from the FlyWire connectome, driving it via 759 photoreceptors at 180Hz. After training on 100,000 characters, it recognized unseen hiragana fonts with about 85% accuracy.
