Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis says building AI and comparing it to the human mind is the best way to work out what remains special, or even unique, about human cognition.
He argues most human abilities — even ones we don't yet understand mechanistically — will eventually be shown to be computable, a notable stance in the ongoing debate over consciousness and the limits of computation.
