Sam Altman revealed OpenAI won't go public in 2026, calling an IPO now an "ill-advised moment" given mounting AI safety concerns. The company filed a confidential S-1 in June; its latest private round valued it at $852B, with reports targeting a $1 trillion debut in 2027.

On Polymarket, the "IPO by Sep 30, 2026" contract resolved No ($2.96M volume); the market now gives the highest odds (63-64%) to an IPO by June 30, 2027, and 51% by March 2027.
