Extropic CEO warns regulation is strangling frontier AI and open source

Extropic CEO Guillaume Verdon fired off a thread against current AI regulatory moves: "Freedom dies one piece of red tape at a time," arguing attempts to strangle frontier and open-source models are no different.
He warns that letting "a small ideological cluster" control everyone's extension to their cognition would lead to culture mode collapse and top-down ideological control.
