Dario Amodei Calls to Pace the Frontier; Anthropic Grants Third-Party Evaluators Employee-Level Access
peterwildeford · x · 2026-09-13
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a new essay, "We Must Pace the Frontier," arguing the AI industry should slow down and laying out a three-part plan. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first step: giving third-party evaluators permanent, employee-level access to its systems to verify safety measures, report incidents, and assess alignment during training. Senator Brian Schatz called it a reasonable start that takes seriously the need for rapidly enactable proposals.
