Replying to Scoble, natesiggard says he rarely disagrees with Elon on tech, but most people he talks to in San Francisco see OpenAI winning. Invoking game theory, he argues everyone who isn't Sam Altman has huge incentives to call for a slowdown—getting ahead of the existential-risk mob with "we want to slow down too" is a pony show for TV audiences—and no one would dump billions into chips only to let them sit idle while a global adversary keeps racing.
