- The danger extends beyond math: AI cuts the cost of producing candidate solutions far faster than the cost of verifying them. An AI might quickly design a viable fusion reactor blueprint, but checking whether it works and can be safely controlled is much slower.
- If we lose the ability to verify claims against the real world, we can no longer distinguish safe AI applications from dangerous ones — offloading the wrong thing and realizing too late.
