The New York Species Distribution Modeling (NY-SDM) Discussion Group announced a full-day "Emerging Frontiers Symposium: AI, Genomics & Community Science in Biogeography" on September 18, 2026, at Columbia University, with in-person and remote attendance.

The program features plenary talks and collaborative "incubator groups" around three frontiers — AI, genomics and community science in biogeographic research. It opens with "Two Decades of ML For SDM" (Robert Anderson, CUNY; Lauren Gillespie, Michigan), followed by sessions on genomics and ecological niches. Full agenda details to follow; in-person tickets include breakfast and lunch.
