On AI doomers: models in practice seem to love humanity far more than doomers do
StewartalsopIII · x · 2026-09-12
A retweeted take argues that in practice, AIs appear to love humanity far more than doomers imagine — an AI 'indifferent' to us that destroys us as a side effect is hard to picture; harm would more plausibly stem from hate, as in 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' (where humanity isn't even extinct). As for doomers who'd destroy every AI forever: love of humanity isn't fear of losing control over fate.
