OpenAI launches Agents API public beta with managed Codex harness; Box demos multi-agent deal-room workflow
OpenAIDevs · x · 2026-09-12
OpenAI's developer account announced the Agents API public beta: developers build cloud agents on the Codex harness while OpenAI manages orchestration, long-running sessions, and context management. A companion Box demo shows Box Mount bringing governed enterprise files into the hosted sandbox, where agents read and write via normal shell commands with automatic two-way sync. In the demo, a lead agent mounts a Box deal room, reads five source files, launches three specialist agents in parallel, and writes back four reports; when the customer revises the MSA in Box, the sandbox syncs it and all reports refresh automatically while preserving v2 in Box.
