YC CEO Garry Tan weighed in on the AI doomsday debate in a CNBC interview at Demo Day: "We don't need to be responding to a science fiction sort of fantasy... We need to be responding to what is happening right now. If there was a coordinated attempt by agents to take over our infrastructure, what do we do about it? These are much more tangible than 'all of humanity is going to die.'" The full interview also covers his take on AI's jobs impact, distillation, the rise of physical AI, and this year's YC cohort.
