- Trust illusion: 68% of finance teams use AI daily, yet only 39% of CFOs are comfortable letting it act independently
- Skills illusion: only 21% see lack of internal AI expertise as a major barrier, but 60% say understanding AI tools will be a critical future skill
- Transformation illusion: heavy AI users are 3x more likely to expect transformational change (51% vs 16%)
- Automation illusion: nearly 9 in 10 CFOs report data capture/extraction shortcomings; 45% still rely on human review
