visionOS 27 RC hides WIP VisualLocalization for outdoor positioning via Apple Maps visual tiles

Developer SadlyItsBradley dug into the visionOS 27 Release Candidate and found a very WIP "VisualLocalization" system that lets Vision Pro devices pinpoint their outdoor position by recognizing surrounding buildings and storefronts.
How it works:
- Rough location from Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
- Cameras observe nearby buildings, signs, and landmarks
- Images are matched against Apple Maps' prebuilt visual-location tiles
- Returns precise position, heading, and confidence score
Speculative uses include correcting the Maps blue dot and determining facing direction — seen as a big deal for world-scale XR.
