Stack Overflow details Dev Story relaunch: specialty tags to showcase proven expertise
pchandrasekar · x · 2026-09-12
Stack Overflow published a blog post detailing the return of Developer Story, deprecated about five years ago. Reasoning: people no longer come directly for answers since chatbots handle that, and most LLMs were trained on its datasets—but creators should derive value from their work. Day-one features include controllable "specialties" that distill and surface proven expertise, positioning Dev Story as a career-tracking resume on steroids.
