Physicist seriously calculates running the fly connectome on an intimate device

Physicist Anders Sandberg seriously explored running the fly connectome (30M synapses) on a buttplugio device. Running Doom is 'of course' doable; a typical ARM Cortex-M4 (256-512 KB SRAM, 1 MB Flash) is far too small, but ESP32-S3 or STM32F7/H7 chips with 8 MB PSRAM and 16 MB Flash 'might almost work', possibly with bit-based integrate-and-fire approximations.
