enacticai, a Tokyo-based company, has open-sourced OpenArm, a humanoid robot project aimed at lowering the barrier to dexterous manipulation research.
- Fully open: complete CAD designs, control code, firmware, and simulation tools are published; you can assemble it from a kit or buy it prebuilt.
- Compliant hardware: the arms are designed to be compliant and backdrivable for safe physical interaction.
- Teleoperation: force feedback and real-time gravity compensation let operators guide the arm naturally.
- Simulation-first: works with MuJoCo and Isaac Sim, so policies can be validated in virtual environments before running on hardware.
