antirez: DeepSeek v4.1 Flash Shared-KV Architecture Enables Fast Local Prefills
antirez · x · 2026-09-11
antirez reports that DeepSeek v4.1 Flash's encoder/decoder shared-KV-cache architecture not only removes compute during prefill but also enables very fast large prefills in local low-memory inference setups. Caveat: on weaker GPUs like the M5 Max, full residency may not beat layer-major prefill and can thrash the experts cache in SSD streaming, so option "3" may be better for DGX Spark.
