CopilotKit has released OpenBot, an open-source framework of fully self-owned "AI Coworkers," already at 4.7k GitHub stars and 584 forks.
The idea: give each bot a job, a computer (remote or local browser + files), and tools so it can research, answer questions, or work inside your apps. Key features:
- Your context on your own infra, with full data recording owned by you
- Works with any agent harness via the AG-UI protocol, powered by CopilotKit
- Pluggable tools, skills, and generative UI
- Fine-grained access rules and agent-human handoffs
- Includes computer use, LangGraph integration, K8s charts, and more
