Editing video in DaVinci via MCP with Codex: trim, audio, captions and assets all delegated to AI

_AustinCalvert_ · x · 2026-09-11

Developer orenmeetsworld shares a first attempt at editing a video in DaVinci Resolve via MCP using Codex—asking it to handle trimming, audio, captions, image sourcing, and animation generation end-to-end to see how far it gets.

The demo shows the 'coding agent + MCP server + pro creative software' pattern extending into video post-production: DaVinci's MCP interface lets the model drive the timeline directly, upgrading script-based automation into natural-language-driven workflows.
