Altman says OpenAI may slow frontier AI development, hopes other labs follow suit

Per Bloomberg, Sam Altman told employees at a company-wide meeting that OpenAI could potentially pace its frontier AI development — possibly in coordination with several other AI labs, though he acknowledged some may not agree. It's the first clear signal OpenAI is considering self-imposed slowdown of cutting-edge model development.
