Per Dealroom, NVIDIA joined 53 rounds of $100M+ in the first eight months of 2026, beating a16z (44), Sequoia (42), and Lightspeed (38), making it the world's most active mega-round investor. Bets include OpenAI's $122B round ($30B from NVIDIA), Anthropic's $30B Series G, xAI's $20B Series E, and a led $5B round into Safe Superintelligence. Tiger Global, SoftBank, and Coatue meanwhile collapsed from 2021 highs to 13, 10, and 27. The author notes NVIDIA's $96B free cash flow dwarfs any VC fund size.
