SpaceX plans to make scarce turbine parts as AI data centers outpace gas turbine supply

Per the Financial Times, AI data centers need power faster than existing gas turbine makers can supply, and SpaceX has already planned to manufacture scarce turbine components itself.
Rohan Paul's analysis: SpaceX doesn't need to become a successful turbine manufacturer to change market supply. If established suppliers believe it can cast scarce blades and vanes in-house, they have stronger incentive to expand capacity before major customers build their own supply chains. That competitive threat alone could increase turbine availability and shorten delivery queues now stretching to 2030 — even if SpaceX never mass-produces the parts.
