A three-layer quote-tweet storm: an anonymous user says they resigned from Anthropic after three years of pretraining research across OpenAI and Anthropic, accusing both labs of racing recklessly toward self-improving superintelligence. Hugging Face engineer NielsRogge piled on, arguing the world was misled into thinking we already have super-powerful AI when we only have LLMs: unreadable code, no learning over time, fixed corpora, uniform compute per token, no generalization beyond RL environments, and no grounding in the physical world.
