ComfyUI node brings a 3-light 3D dome relighting studio to MiniMax H3 Edit
Emotional_Example_12 · reddit · 2026-09-11
A Reddit developer (Bruxos do VFX) is building ComfyUI nodes that turn MiniMax H3 Edit into a relighting studio; not released yet.
- H3 Relight: places a photo in a 3D dome with up to three lights, each with direction, type (Hard/Soft/Sky), intensity (1.0–10.0), and color in Kelvin (1000–10000) or HEX. Includes 20 presets filterable by portrait/product, background options (Original/Black/White studio), and 25 atmospheres. Strongest light becomes key, behind-subject becomes rim, weaker frontal becomes fill.
- H3 Sun: computes the real sun position for a location, date, time, and camera direction, feeding Light 1 for realistic shadow matching.
- The lighting plan, presets, and parameter format follow MiniMax Design's Relight skill; direction conventions build on Eric Venti's Sun-Direction LoRA and Lightricks' LTX-2.3 Relight IC-LoRA; solar math is NOAA-based; city data from GeoNames.
- Ships with tests covering JS/Python sphere rendering (difference below 2/255), scene geometry, and solar calculations validated against the astral library. Requires numpy and node.
