Anthropic Walks Away From Reported $6 Billion Acquisition of Decart

Anthropic has decided against pursuing its acquisition of Decart AI, Bloomberg reports. The Claude maker had been in talks to buy the startup for roughly $6 billion and completed due diligence before walking away; the two companies may still collaborate in other ways.
Decart builds software that cuts AI training and inference costs by making chips run more efficiently. Anthropic, which rarely makes large acquisitions, is channeling spending into compute ahead of a hotly anticipated IPO, reportedly seeking to raise as much as SpaceX or more.
