Actor Labs and Physical Intelligence to host 36-hour physical AI hackathon in Mountain View

Actor Labs, in collaboration with Physical Intelligence, is hosting "act-athon", a physical AI hackathon on September 25-27 in Mountain View, CA.
- Format: 45 participants in teams of 3, 36 hours, free to attend, with food, workspace, a 3D printer farm, tools and parts provided (sleeping requires bringing a tent)
- The task: deploy pi 0.7 (a VLA model) onto mini electric excavators, remote-controlled heavy equipment, drones, or manipulators
- Prerequisites: hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying VLAs, plus hardware tinkering background
- Judges: Actor Labs CEO Lane Burgett, CTO Shashi Verma, and others from Physical Intelligence
- Prizes: BambuLabs 3D printers, a comma 4 from comma.ai, Microcenter gift cards, and more for the top four teams
