Claude in Chrome replicates a profile picture in MS Paint, 45 minutes of pure clicking

bcherny · x · 2026-09-11

A user tasked Claude in Chrome with replicating their profile picture in JS Paint using only brushes and mouse clicks — explicitly banning the JavaScript tool to prevent it from cheating.

Claude spent 45 minutes clicking and painting its way to a close replica. The author notes the no-JS constraint was intentional (the model would otherwise write JavaScript and finish faster, but people wanted to see it actually click), that 45 minutes isn't much slower than competitors, and that prompt design was the key factor.
