Analog Devices to acquire edge-AI chipmaker Alif Semiconductor for $1.35B

Analog Devices signed a definitive agreement to acquire Alif Semiconductor for $1.35B in cash plus up to $200M in contingent consideration.

Alif's vision was building AI into low-cost, low-power microcontrollers to power physical intelligence at the edge. Lightspeed, which led its 2019 Series B, credits founders Syed Ali (who built Cavium into an industry leader) and Reza Kazerounian's chip shipping track record for the outcome.
